Real Life Stories for Inspiration
Right from the starting of my childhood, I loved listening to real life stories. My grand mother had a huge collection of true life stories and she used to tell me some of those stories to make me sleep every night. And then in my teenage, my friends used to tell me funny real life stories and love stories; we had great fun sharing those stories. And as I grew up, I started reading short stories about life from the internet.
I learned different types of stories at different age; Listening or reading life changing stories has become a part of my life. So in this post, I would like to share some cool real life stories that I loved. True life stories of great men and women who brought a great change to this world.
So, here is the crazy list of real life stories of inspiring people around.
Real Life Story 1: A Story that Shows Why Thomas Edison is So Successful.
On 10th Dec 1914, a massive explosion took place at Thomas Edison’s plant. Half of the plant was in flames. Edison calmly walked over and watched the fire destroying his dad’s work. Edison told his 24-year-old son, “Go get your mother and all her friends. They’ll never see a fire like this again.” When Charles objected, Edison said, “It’s all right. We’ve just got rid of a lot of rubbish.”
The other day, Edison was quoted in The New York Times “Although I am over 67 years old, I’ll start all over again tomorrow.”. After the whole scene, Edison didn’t fire any of his employees, instead he started rebuilding the next morning.
“To do great things, we need to be able to endure tragedy and setbacks,” Ryan Holiday writes the author of the book “The Obstacle Is the Way: The Timeless Art of Turning Trials into Triumph,” “We’ve got to love what we do and all that it entails, good and bad. We have to learn to find joy in every single thing that happens.”
Real Life STORY 2 – Amazing real life story of Alexander The Great with Great Moral.
There is very instructive incident involving the life of Alexander, the great Macedonian king. Alexander, after conquering many kingdoms, was returning home. On the way, he fell ill and it took him to his death bed. With death staring him in his face, Alexander realized how his conquests, his great army, his sharp sword and all his wealth were of no consequence.
He now longed to reach home to see his mother’s face and bid her his last adieu. But, he had to accept the fact that his sinking health would not permit him to reach his distant homeland. So, the mighty conqueror lay prostrate and pale, helplessly waiting to breathe his last. He called his generals and said, “I will depart from this world soon, I have three wishes, please carry them out without fail.” With tears flowing down their cheeks, the generals agreed to abide by their king’s last wishes.
“My first desire is that,” said Alexander, “My physicians alone must carry my coffin.” After a pause, he continued, “Secondly, I desire that when my coffin is being carried to the grave, the path leading to the graveyard be strewn with gold, silver and precious stones which I have collected in my treasury.
“The king felt exhausted after saying this. He took a minute’s rest and continued. “My third and last wish is that both my hands be kept dangling out of my coffin.”The people who had gathered there wondered at the king’s strange wishes. But no one dare bring the question to their lips.
Alexander’s favorite general kissed his hand and pressed them to his heart. “O king, we assure you that your wishes will all be fulfilled. But tell us why do you make such strange wishes?”
At this Alexander took a deep breath and said: “I would like the world to know of the three lessons I have just learnt. I want my physicians to carry my coffin because people should realize that no doctor can really cure any body. They are powerless and cannot save a person from the clutches of death. So let not people take life for granted.
The second wish of strewing gold, silver and other riches on the way to the graveyard is to tell People that not even a fraction of gold will come with me. I spent all my life earning riches but cannot take anything with me. Let people realize that it is a sheer waste of time to chase wealth.
And about my third wish of having my hands dangling out of the coffin, I wish people to know that I came empty handed into this world and empty handed I go out of this world.”
Alexander’s last words: “Bury my body, do not build any monument, keep my hands outside so that the world knows the person who won the world had nothing in his hands when dying“.
With these words, the king closed his eyes. Soon he let death conquer him and breathed his last.
Real Life Story 3: Life Lesson Stories from Albert Einstein.
This short saying from Einstein’s life is one of my favorite. I remember this story every time I find myself in trouble.
One day, Einstein’s son came to him and said.. ‘Dad, I am so broken hearted I love this girl but she has rejected me.’ Albert Einstein, one of the greatest minds of all time said, ‘Son, life is like a bicycle in order to keep your balance you have to keep moving.’ That’s perhaps the best advice a father can ever give to his son who is dealing with a broken heart!
He also had quite the sense of humor. One day he picked up a baby and the baby started screaming. He looked at the baby and said, ‘Why you are the first one to give me your honest impression of me in years!’
While he most certainly had a tremendous sense of humor he also tackled the biggest challenges and mysteries of science. In true humble Einstein fashion he once remarked, “It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s just that I stay with problems longer .”
So that ends our list for today. We hope you loved all the inspirational life stories we have listed here. We will be back with more amazing real life stories in one of our future posts.
