People Can Do Amazing Things – Perhaps Here is the Best
It is not the strength of the body that counts, but the strength of the spirit that counts more!
People can do amazing things! Let us show you one today. When he was 15, he was diagnosed with cancer; after two years he realized that it didn’t stop! His name was Stephen Sutton, 19 and it was from then Stephen started battling for his life. But more importantly, stephen also started fighting to raising one million pounds for Teenage Cancer Trust.
He then made a bucket list with 46 experiences he wished to complete in the short span he has! But perhaps the best was to raise one million pounds for Teenage Cancer Trust.
It was on Tuesday, the 19 year old posted a message on his facebook page so called – “final thumbs up,” saying goodbye to everyone and thanking every one in his life. A man who can proudly be called 1 in a million. Perhaps true modern legend.
You can check his status here!
It’s a final thumbs up from me! I’ve done well to blag things as well as I have up till now, but unfortunately I think this is just one hurdle too far.
It’s a shame the end has come so suddenly- there’s so many people I haven’t got round to properly thank or say goodbye too. Apologies for that.
There was also so many exciting projects and things I didn’t get to see out. Hopefully some will continue and if you want to carry on the fundraising please do (justgiving.com/stephen-sutton-TCT is the link to donate to).
All future updates on this page will probably be from a family member. I hopefully may have the energy to write a few tweets (@_StephensStory). I will continue fighting for as long as I can, and whatever happens next I want you all to know I am currently in a good place mentally and at ease with the situation.
That’s it from me. But life has been good. Very good.
Thank you to my mum and the rest of my family for everything. Thank you to my friends for being amazing. Thank you to my medical team for the hard work and effort they’ve continually they’ve put towards me. And thank you everyone else for sharing this wonderful journey with me.
I love you all 🙂 x
Stephen successfully raised 2 million after that message! What an inspiration, being so positive and brave at a time like this, yet 95% of the population moan about having to get up for work on a Monday morning. Just remember that life isnt based on how long you live, its what you do in the time you are here, and I can safely say you have achieved much more than I and many others will achieve in their whole lifetime. Praying you pull through this!
Here are some great comments stephen received on his post.
You were obviously put on Earth with a special job to do !! and my goodness you’ve done it with bells on !!! Being an inspiration to others young and old who are going through anything like you have been through is more than anyone can hope to do. You are an amazing person and this way your mom and family with be left nothing but pride and wonderful memories God Bless x
First time I’ve heard of your battle …. What a crying shame I won’t see another post off you , so sorry this battle you won’t win but my god your attitude is so humbling , your smile is amazing and I’m crying because life is so cruel.
