New Years Resolutions, Ideas and Quotes for 2015

As Christmas is nearing up and as 2014 comes to a close, it’s time to look back and be thankful for all that transpired (be it positive or negative) and gear up for 2015. Before you start extending your happy New Year wishes to others remember that you owe yourself a gift – the gift of living a better life.

Yes, a better life for yourself may be one of the best New Year wishes you can have but this wouldn’t be materialized if you do not commit to taking a definitive action. New Year resolutions can help by providing you a plan and a focus to how you want to live your 2015. But before you start, we want to cheer you up! So take a look at these funny Christmas and new year greetings we posted recently.

And now, coming back to the conversation, year after year, resolutions are made… and yes, it is very easy to break them as well. Some people say resolutions are perhaps made to be broken but there is always a way to stick with them if you want to make 2015 a happy and meaningful year for you. Be it wanting to live a more healthy life, re-focusing your career goals, or de-cluttering your closet, a few resolution ideas will help you decide what you truly want. All you need is the right mindset and the willpower to stick by your new year ideas no matter what.

Here’s a run-down of ideas for your New Years Resolutions in 2015.

New Years Resolutions or Ideas

1. Get organized.

Make a list. Listing helps you get organized. If it’s your habit of making plans for the day and listing it down – good! If not, well, it’s not too late yet. No matter your method for keeping track of your list, the end goal is to make yourself more productive. When you make a to-do-list, make it something fulfilling by identifying your tasks, objectives and goals. List your tasks in order of priority with your goals and objectives clearly in mind. Otherwise, you may end up spending precious time on things that don’t really matter.

Don’t forget to put a time frame or a reasonable deadline for each task and cross out tasks you have already accomplished one by one. Those that are listed as high priority tasks should be done “today.” However, deadlines should be attainable and reasonable. You cannot accomplish 20 top priority tasks within a day, right? You can reward yourself for each completed task and keep a spirit of motivation to keep on for the other things you need to do. Overall, an effective to-do-list is one that is shaped by a clear goal, is doable and one that is written comprehensively.

2. Live a healthier life.

Health should be a top priority for your 2015 New Year Resolutions. Be it not skipping your meals, junking “junk foods,” drinking less, or losing weight, a resolution to live a healthier life this year will go a long way towards a better you. Look at what you are eating. Are they healthy? Eat a balanced diet and take time each day to stretch and exercise.

Every time we do this, we are doing our body a favor – our mind becomes more alert, we feel more energetic and relaxed, making us more capable of battling daily doses of stress. You can start with the basics such as making sure you plan healthy meals, drink lots of fluids (at least 8 glasses a day), make exercise a part of your daily routine, and sleep at least eight hours a day. With all these, you can say hello to 2015 with a vibrant and healthier you.

3. Indulge yourself.

Each year, our life can become bombarded with meetings, deadlines, and tons of day-to-day activities that make us want to crash. This year, see to it that you indulge yourself on some of life’s simple and inexpensive pleasures to recharge your spirit and energy. If you have been wanting to eat some sweets, go grab a chocolate! Go for sweet, rich dark chocolates and lower your blood cholesterol as well.

Get a manicure to reward your dedicated hands. This is a sure-fire way of feeling pampered and yes, improving self-esteem. Better yet, go for a full massage to reduce stress hormones, lower your anxiety and even improve immunity. If at home, watch a funny movie with a loved one and laugh your heart out – it’s priceless!

4. Forgive… Let go!

This is one of the most important things to add to your list of New Years Resolution – forgiveness. We’ve all been hurt and letting go of the pain and resentment is never easy. Depending on how a person looks at the situation, the process of forgiving and letting go can be complicated. A change in mindset might help – thinking you can take control of your emotion and deciding to move forward may lead you to forgive in due time.

You can get a journal and write down what you are going through. Make your pen and paper a channel for releasing negative emotions. If you’re not into this, there are a lot of other ways or activities you can take to make you busy. By going out there, you can meet new people, make new friends and start enjoying life once more. After all, time heals all brokenness.

You don’t have to wait until New Year’s Eve to come up with your 2015 wishes and resolutions. Start your year right by reflecting on what you really want out of life a few days before the first day of 2015. And don’t forget to greet everyone pleasant New Year greetings.
